Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Reception Plan for Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa): Gifts, Procession, and Protocol
The verse highlights that respectful conduct and proper hospitality toward a righteous, influential person (here Kṛṣṇa) can secure legitimate support and success; ethical relationship-building is presented as a powerful means in statecraft.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations, the speaker frames a strategy: if Kṛṣṇa is pleased by their honors and attentions, his backing will help them achieve their objectives in the wider assembly of kings.
