सत्यं ते प्रतिजानामि कृष्णे बाष्पो निगृहताम्‌ । हतामित्रज्श्रिया युक्तानचिराद्‌ द्रक्ष्यसे पतीन्‌,“कृष्णे! अपने आँसुओंको रोको। मैं तुमसे सच्ची प्रतिज्ञा करके कहता हूँ, तुम शीघ्र ही देखोगी कि सारे शत्रु मार डाले गये और तुम्हारे पति राज्यलक्ष्मीसे सम्पन्न हैं!

satyaṃ te pratijānāmi kṛṣṇe bāṣpo nigṛhyatām | hatāmitraj-śriyā yuktān acirād drakṣyase patīn ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), halte deine Tränen zurück. Ich gebe dir ein wahrhaftiges Gelübde: Schon bald wirst du deine Gatten sehen, erfüllt von königlichem Glück, und die Feinde erschlagen.“
