अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
सर्व जगदिदं तात विदितं ते परंतप । दिष्ट्या कृच्छुमिदं राजन् पारितं भरतर्षभ,“तात! परंतप! तुम्हें इस सम्पूर्ण जगतका तत्त्व ज्ञात है। भरतश्रेष्ठ नरेश! तुम इस महान् संकटसे पार हो गये, यह बड़े सौभाग्यकी बात है
sarva jagad idaṃ tāta viditaṃ te parantapa | diṣṭyā kṛcchum idaṃ rājan pāritaṃ bharatarṣabha ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Lieber Sohn, o Bezwinger der Feinde, die Wahrheit dieser ganzen Welt ist dir bekannt. O König, Stier unter den Bhāratas, wahrlich ist es ein Segen, dass du diese schwere Krise überwunden hast.“
