Educational Q&A

Trust grounded in known character and goodwill is a dharmic basis for diplomacy: one should act for the welfare of both sides, without needless suspicion, and seek auspicious outcomes even amid looming conflict.

In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a trusted person, affirming kinship and friendship, expressing confidence in his goodwill, and urging him to go on a mission aimed at the benefit of both parties, offering a blessing for success.
