संजय उवाच
This verse is a colophon marking the close of a chapter. Its ethical significance lies in framing the preceding discourse within the Mahābhārata’s larger concern: the attempt at saṃdhi (peace) before resorting to war, reminding readers that negotiation and restraint are integral to dharma even amid inevitable conflict.
Sanjaya concludes his narration for this chapter, and the text formally announces that the sixty-eighth chapter of the Yāna-saṃdhi section within the Udyoga Parva has ended.
