Sañjaya’s Knowledge of Keśava and the Discipline of Indriya-nigraha
The verse teaches that the highest form of power is inner sovereignty: one who is truly self-controlled (vaśī) can, by mere resolve, bring even vast realms under order. Ethically, it elevates self-mastery above coercive domination and presents Krishna as the paradigm of perfectly independent, dharmic authority.
Sanjaya is describing Krishna’s supreme capability and status to Dhritarashtra’s court contextually within the Udyoga Parva’s diplomacy and impending war. The statement magnifies Krishna’s potency to influence outcomes across all worlds, reinforcing why his counsel and mission carry decisive weight.
