Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise
येषु सम्प्रतितिष्ठेयु: कुरव: पीडिता: परै: । ते युद्ध नाभिनन्दन्ति तत् तुभ्यं तात रोचताम्,शत्रुओंसे पीड़ित होनेपर कौरवसैनिक जिनके आश्रयमें खड़े हो सकते हैं, वे ही लोग युद्धका अनुमोदन नहीं कर रहे हैं। तात! उनके इस विचारको तुम्हें भी पसंद करना चाहिये
yeṣu sampratitiṣṭheyuḥ kuravaḥ pīḍitāḥ paraiḥ | te yuddhaṃ nābhinandanti tat tubhyaṃ tāta rocatām ||
Gerade jene, auf die sich die Kurus, wenn sie von Feinden bedrängt würden, fest stützen könnten, billigen den Krieg nicht. Darum, mein Sohn, lass auch dir ihr Urteil annehmbar sein.
