उद्योगपर्व — विदुरनीतिः (Adhyāya 37): आयुःक्षयहेतवः, नीतिसूत्राणि, बलभेदाः, पाण्डव-विग्रहदोषदर्शनम्
धर्मकामार्थकार्याणि तथा मन्त्रो न भिद्यते धर्म, काम और अर्थसम्बन्धी कार्योंको करनेसे पहले न बतावे, करके ही दिखावे। ऐसा करनेसे अपनी मन्त्रणा दूसरोंपर प्रकट नहीं होती
dharmakāmārthakāryāṇi tathā mantro na bhidyate
Vidura rät, Vorhaben, die mit Dharma (Pflicht), Kāma (Begehren) und Artha (materiellen Zielen) verbunden sind, nicht im Voraus auszurufen. Man soll die Tat vollenden und dann das Ergebnis sichtbar werden lassen; so werden Rat und strategische Erwägung nicht vor anderen entblößt.
