ध्ृतराष्टर उवाच आचक्ष्व मां कुशलिनं कल्पमस्मै प्रवेश्यतां स्वागतं संजयाय । न चाहमेतस्य भवाम्यकल्प: स मे कस्माद् द्वारि तिछेच्च सक्त:,धृतराष्ट्रने कहा--द्वारपाल! संजयका स्वागत है। उसे कहो कि मैं सकुशल हूँ, अतः इस समय उससे भेंट करनेको तैयार हूँ। उसे भीतर ले आओ। उससे मिलनेमें मुझे कभी भी अड़चन नहीं होती। फिर वह दरवाजेपर सटकर क्यों खड़ा है?
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca |
ācakṣva māṃ kuśalinaṃ kalpam asmai praveśyatāṃ svāgataṃ saṃjayāya |
na cāham etasya bhavāmy akalpaḥ sa me kasmād dvāri tiṣṭhec ca saktaḥ ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra sprach: „Sag ihm, dass es mir wohl ergeht und ich bereit bin, ihn zu empfangen; heiße Saṃjaya willkommen und bringe ihn herein. Ich bin niemals unvorbereitet, ihn zu sehen—warum steht er dann so dicht an der Tür?“
