Sañjaya’s Envoy-Speech on Peace
कामार्थलाभेन तथैव भूयो न तृप्यते सर्पिषेवाग्निरिद्ध: । विषयोंका चिन्तन अपने शरीरको पीड़ा देता है। जो विषय-चिन्तनसे सर्वथा मुक्त है
kāmārthalābhena tathaiva bhūyo na tṛpyate sarpiṣevāgniriddhaḥ |
Sañjaya sprach: „Selbst nachdem einer begehrte Dinge und Reichtum erlangt hat, wird er nicht satt; vielmehr wächst das Verlangen noch weiter — wie ein loderndes Feuer, das, mit Ghee genährt, nicht erlischt, sondern nur heftiger aufflammt. So beenden Genuss und Erwerb den Durst nicht: Sie steigern ihn, und der Geist bleibt unerfüllt.“
