Adhyāya 195 — Arjuna’s Capability and Restraint Regarding Divyāstras

मध्यमे च विराटं च जयत्सेनं च पाण्डव:,अन्वयातां तदा मध्ये वासुदेवधनंजयौ । बीचके दलमें राजाने विराट, जयत्सेन तथा पांचालदेशीय महारथी युधामन्यु और उत्तमौजाको रखा। हाथोंमें गदा और धनुष धारण किये ये दोनों वीर (युधामन्यु-उत्तमौजा) बड़े पराक्रमी और मनस्वी थे। उस समय इन सबके मध्यभागमें भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुन सेनाके पीछे-पीछे जा रहे थे
madhyame ca virāṭaṃ ca jayatsenaṃ ca pāṇḍavaḥ, anvayātāṃ tadā madhye vāsudeva-dhanañjayau |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Da ordnete der Pāṇḍava König Virāṭa und Jayatsena in die Mitte der Schlachtordnung; und in diesem zentralen Raum bewegten sich Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) und Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), dem Heer von hinten folgend. Das Bild hebt die disziplinierte Ordnung des Krieges hervor: Führung und Rat bleiben im Herzen des Heeres, damit Macht durch Selbstbeherrschung und rechtes Urteil gelenkt wird und nicht durch bloße Gewalt.
