उ्तिष्ठ मा भैर्गाजड़ेय न भयं ते5स्ति किंचन । रक्षामहे त्वां कौरव्य स्वशरीरं हि नो भवान्‌,“गंगानन्दन! उठो! भयभीत न होओ। तुम्हें कोई भय नहीं है। कुरुनन्दन! हम तुम्हारी रक्षा करते हैं, क्योंकि तुम हमारे ही स्वरूप हो

uttiṣṭha mā bhair gāṅgeya na bhayaṁ te 'sti kiṁcana | rakṣāmahe tvāṁ kauravya svaśarīraṁ hi no bhavān ||

Bhishma sprach: „Steh auf, o Gāṅgeya; fürchte dich nicht. Für dich gibt es keinerlei Furcht. O Spross der Kurus, wir werden dich schützen — denn du bist wahrlich wie unser eigener Leib.“
