अभिषातप्रभावाच्च पावक: समजायत | उस समय वायुके कम्पन और सूर्यकी किरणोंसे समस्त बाण परस्पर टकराने लगे। उनकी रगड़से वहाँ आग प्रकट हो गयी

abhiṣātaprabhāvāc ca pāvakaḥ samajāyata |

Bhīṣma sprach: „Und durch die Wucht des Aufpralls und die Reibung entstand Feuer.“ Damals stießen, durch das Beben des Windes und die Strahlen der Sonne, alle Pfeile gegeneinander; aus ihrem Reiben brach dort eine Flamme hervor.
