Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ऑपन--माजल बछ। जि: अष्टस प्तत्याधिकशततमो< ध्याय: अम्बा और परशुरामजीका संवाद
bhīṣma uvāca |
evam uktas tadā rāmo jahi bhīṣmam iti prabho |
uvāca rudatīṁ kanyāṁ codayantīṁ punaḥ punaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: Da sagte Rāma (Paraśurāma), so angerufen — „O Herr, töte Bhīṣma!“ — zu der Jungfrau, die weinend ihn immer wieder drängte: „Schöne, Prinzessin von Kāśī! Meinem Gelübde gemäß erhebe ich nur dann Waffen, wenn es aus Notwendigkeit um eines vedakundigen Brāhmaṇa willen geschieht. Ohne einen solchen Grund greife ich nicht nach Waffen nach Belieben. Wie also kann ich, während ich dieses Gelübde wahre, noch eine andere Sache für dich tun?“
