तस्योपविष्टस्य सतो विश्रान्तस्योपशृण्वत: । पुनरेव कथां चक्कु: कन्यां प्रति वनौकस:,जब वे आसनपर बैठकर विश्राम कर चुके, उस समय उनके सुनते हुए ही वे वनवासी तपस्वी पुनः: उस कन्याके विषयमें बातचीत करने लगे
tasyopaviṣṭasya sataḥ viśrāntasyopaśṛṇvataḥ | punar eva kathāṃ cakruḥ kanyāṃ prati vanaukasaḥ ||
Als er Platz genommen hatte, ruhig ausruhte und zuhörte, begannen die im Wald lebenden Asketen erneut, untereinander über das Mädchen zu sprechen.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical importance of thoughtful deliberation (kathā) by responsible elders/ascetics before acting—especially in matters affecting another’s life and dignity, here symbolized by discussion concerning a maiden.
After the person in question sits down, rests, and listens, the forest-dwelling ascetics resume their conversation about the maiden, indicating an ongoing consultation or decision-making process.
