Ulūka’s Provocation and Keśava’s Counter-Message (उलूकदूत्ये केशवप्रत्युत्तरम्)
सा वो दास्ये समापन्नान् मोचयामास पार्षती । अमानुष्यं समापन्नान् दासकर्मण्यवस्थितान्
sā vo dāsye samāpannān mocayāmāsa pārṣatī | amānuṣyaṃ samāpannān dāsakarmaṇy avasthitān |
Sañjaya sprach: „Jene Tochter des Pārṣata (Draupadī) befreite euch aus der Knechtschaft — als ihr in die Sklaverei gefallen wart, zu einem unmenschlichen Zustand herabgewürdigt und zu Sklavenarbeit hingestellt.“
संजय उवाच
The verse condemns the dehumanization inherent in slavery and forced servitude, and highlights the dharmic duty to restore dignity and freedom when people are unjustly reduced to a subhuman condition.
Sañjaya reminds the listeners that Draupadī (Pārṣatī) intervened to free certain persons who had been made to live as slaves—treated as less than human and compelled to perform menial slave-work—underscoring her role as a moral force amid the Kuru crisis.
