सात्यकिश्नलेकितानश्नव भीमसेनश्न वीर्यवान् । एते सेनाप्रणेतारो वीरा: सर्वे तनुत्यज:,“इन सातों अक्षौहिणियोंके जो सात विख्यात सेनापति हैं, उनके नाम बताता हूँ, सुनो। द्रुपद, विराट, धृष्टद्युम्न, शिखण्डी, सात्यकि, चेकितान और पराक्रमी भीमसेन। ये सभी वीर हमारे लिये अपने शरीरका भी त्याग कर देनेको उद्यत हैं; अतः ये ही पाण्डवसेनाके संचालक होनेयोग्य हैं
vaiśampāyana uvāca | sāt yakiś cekitānaś ca bhīmasenaś ca vīryavān | ete senāpraṇetāro vīrāḥ sarve tanutyajaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Sātyaki, Cekitāna und der mächtige Bhīmasena — dies sind die heldenhaften Heerführer, alle bereit, selbst ihren Leib, ihr Leben, hinzugeben. Darum sind sie geeignet, das Heer der Pāṇḍavas zu führen und zu lenken.
