Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
प्राड्मुखस्योर्ध्वबाहो: सा पर्यतिछठत पृष्ठतः । जप्यावसानं कार्यार्थ प्रतीक्षन्ती तपस्विनी
prāṅmukhasyordhvabāhoḥ sā paryatiṣṭhat pṛṣṭhataḥ | japyāvasānaṃ kāryārthaṃ pratīkṣantī tapasvinī ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Während er nach Osten gewandt stand und die Arme erhoben hielt, blieb sie hinter ihm stehen und wartete auf das Ende seiner heiligen Rezitation — Kuntī, die Asketin, dort aus notwendigem Anlass. Die Szene betont rituelle Disziplin und ehrerbietige Zurückhaltung: Sie unterbricht den Ritus nicht, sondern wartet auf den rechten Zeitpunkt zu handeln.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic restraint and reverence for sacred observance: even when one has an urgent purpose, one should not disrupt another’s ritual discipline, but wait for the proper completion and appropriate moment to speak or act.
