Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya
अपारे भव न: पारमप्लवे भव न: प्लवः । कुरुष्व स्थानमस्थाने मृतान् संजीवयस्व न:
apāre bhava naḥ pāram aplave bhava naḥ plavaḥ | kuruṣva sthānam asthāne mṛtān saṃjīvayasva naḥ | ekaśatrūvadhenaiva śūro gacchati viśrutim |
„In der uferlosen Weite sei uns das ferne Ufer; wo kein Boot ist, sei uns das Boot. Schaffe festen Stand, wo kein Stand ist, und belebe unsere Gefallenen, als riefest du Tote ins Leben zurück. Denn schon durch das Erschlagen eines einzigen Feindes erlangt ein Held weithin Ruhm.“
