Haryaśva’s Agreement with Gālava and the Birth of Vasumanā
Nārada’s narration
adya me saphalaṃ janma tāritaṃ cādya me kulam | adyāyaṃ tārito deśo mama tārkṣya tvayānagha ||
The verse teaches that truly righteous aid has consequences beyond the individual: it is experienced as ‘deliverance’ for one’s lineage and land. Publicly acknowledging such beneficence is itself a dharmic act, reinforcing ethical reciprocity and honoring the blameless protector.
Nārada addresses Garuḍa (Tārkṣya), declaring that Garuḍa’s intervention has made Nārada’s life meaningful and has ‘saved’ his family line and even his country. It is a formal expression of gratitude and acclaim directed to a powerful, virtuous helper.
