धन-निरुक्ति तथा गालवस्य गुरुदक्षिणा-प्रसङ्गः

Etymology of Wealth and the Gurudakṣiṇā Predicament of Gālava

अनुज्ञातस्तु शाण्डिल्या यथागतमुपागमत्‌ | नैव चासादयामास तथारूपांस्तुरंगमान्‌,तत्पश्चात्‌ शाण्डिलीकी आज्ञा ले वे जैसे आये थे, वैसे ही चले गये। वे गालवके बताये अनुसार श्यामकर्ण घोड़े नहीं पा सके

anujñātas tu śāṇḍilyā yathāgatam upāgamat | naiva cāsādayāmāsa tathārūpāṁs turaṅgamān |

Nachdem er Śāṇḍilīs Erlaubnis erhalten hatte, zog er fort, genau wie er gekommen war. Doch Pferde der geforderten Art vermochte er nicht zu erlangen; so wurden die von Gālava beschriebenen dunkelohrigen Rosse nicht gefunden.
