Nahuṣa Abhiṣeka and the Crisis of Restraint (नहुषाभिषेकः—दमभ्रंशः)
यदुक्तासि मया देवि सत्यं तद् भविता ध्रुवम् द्रक्ष्य्से देवराजानमिन्द्रं शीघ्रमिहागतम्,यह सुनकर बृहस्पतिने भयसे व्याकुल हुई इन्द्राणीसे कहा--*देवि! मैंने तुमसे जो कुछ कहा है, वह सब अवश्य सत्य होगा। तुम शीघ्र ही देवराज इन्द्रको यहाँ आया हुआ देखोगी। नहुषसे तुम्हें डरना नहीं चाहिये। मैं सच्ची बात कहता हूँ, थोड़े ही दिनोंमें तुम्हें इन्द्रसे मिला दूँगा'
yad uktāsi mayā devi satyaṃ tad bhavitā dhruvam | drakṣyase devarājānam indraṃ śīghram ihāgatam ||
Bṛhaspati sprach zu Indrāṇī, die von Sorge erschüttert war: „Göttin, was ich dir gesagt habe, wird gewiss wahr werden. Sehr bald wirst du Indra, den König der Götter, hierher zurückgekehrt sehen. Fürchte Nahūṣa nicht; ich spreche die Wahrheit—bald werde ich dich wieder zu Indra führen.“
