Suparṇa–Gālava

Educational Q&A

The verse links disciplined Vedic learning—fulfilled by insight into truth (tattva-jñāna)—with the highest human goal: akṣaya mokṣa, liberation that does not perish or diminish.

The speaker (Yuparṇa) describes a locale where accomplished Brahmin sages, famed under the designation “Śiva,” reside; they are portrayed as Veda-masters who, by completing Vedic study and realizing its inner truth, have attained imperishable liberation.
