इदं तृतीयं भ्रातृणामर्थ यत्‌ स्थातुमिच्छसि । विशुद्धोईसि महाभाग सुखी विगतकल्मष:

Transliteration

idaṁ tṛtīyaṁ bhrātṝṇām artha yat sthātum icchasi | viśuddho 'si mahābhāga sukhī vigata-kalmaṣaḥ ||

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana sprach: „Dies ist die dritte Prüfung, die das Wohl deiner Brüder betrifft. Da du wünschtest zu bleiben (selbst in der Hölle) um ihretwillen und deinen eigenen Trost geringachtetest, o Hochbegnadeter, bist du dadurch als rein erwiesen. Kein Makel der Sünde haftet an dir; darum sei in Frieden und genieße das Glück.“
