Indra and Dharma’s Consolation; Celestial Gaṅgā Purification
अत्र स्नातस्य भावस्ते मानुषो विगमिष्यति । गतशोको निरायासो मुक्तवैरो भविष्यसि
atra snātasya bhāvas te mānuṣo vigamiṣyati | gataśoko nirāyāso muktavairo bhaviṣyasi ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wenn du hier badest, wird dein menschlicher Zustand von dir abfallen. Frei von Kummer, ohne Mühsal und ohne Drangsal, und von Feindschaft erlöst, so wirst du werden.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Purification is presented as an inner transformation: through sacred bathing, sorrow and hostility are relinquished, and the person becomes fit for a higher, reconciled state beyond ordinary human limitations.
Vaiśampāyana describes the effect of bathing at this sacred spot (associated with the Mandākinī): the bather’s mortal disposition is said to fade, and they become free from grief, strain, and enmity—signaling readiness for the final ascent and resolution of lingering conflicts.
