अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment

शीतवातातपसह: क्षुत्पिपासाश्रमक्षम: । तपसा विधिदृष्टेन शरीरमुपशोषयन्‌,सर्दी, गर्मी और हवाको सहूँगा, भूख, प्यास और परिश्रमको सहनेका अभ्यास डालूगा, शास्त्रोक्त तपस्याद्वारा इस शरीरको सुखाता रहूँगा

śītavātātapasahaḥ kṣutpipāsāśramakṣamaḥ | tapasā vidhidṛṣṭena śarīram upaśoṣayan ||

Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „Kälte, Wind und Hitze will ich ertragen; ich will mich darin üben, Hunger, Durst und Mühsal zu tragen. Durch die nach der Vorschrift der Schriften gebotene Askese werde ich diesen Leib beständig auszehren—ihn durch disziplinierte Buße bezwingen.“
