अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् । मुनि: कालकवृक्षीय: कौसल्यं यदुवाच ह,इस विषयमें जानकार लोग, कालकवृक्षीय मुनिने कोसलराजको जो उपदेश दिया था, उसी प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं
atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | muniḥ kālakavṛkṣīyaḥ kausalyaṃ yad uvāca ha ||
Bhishma sprach: „Auch hier führen die Gelehrten ein uraltes Beispiel an: die alte Überlieferung von der Unterweisung, die der Weise Kālaka-vṛkṣīya einst Kausalya, dem König von Kosala, erteilte — ein Beispiel, das man heranzieht, um rechtes Handeln durch erinnerte Mahnung zu erhellen.“
