This line is a colophon rather than a teaching verse: it frames the preceding material as instruction on rājadharma (royal duty) and varṇāśrama-dharma (duties according to social order and life-stage), emphasizing that ethical governance is grounded in regulated personal and social conduct.
The chapter concludes formally. The Mahābhārata’s Śānti Parva continues its post-war instruction, and this closing formula identifies the location of the discourse—within the rājadharma instruction section and specifically the discussion of varṇa and āśrama duties.
