राजधर्मस्य नवनीतम्—रक्षा, दण्ड, चार, उत्थान

Rājadharma’s ‘Essence’: Protection, Punishment, Intelligence, and Royal Diligence

साधु साध्विति संहृष्टा: पुष्पमाणैरिवाननै: । अस्तुवंश्व नरव्याप्रं भीष्म धर्मभूतां वरम्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! भीष्मजीका यह वक्तव्य सुनकर भगवान्‌ व्यास, देवस्थान, अश्म, वसुदेवनन्दन श्रीकृष्ण, कृपाचार्य, सात्यकि और संजय बड़े प्रसन्न हुए और हर्षसे खिले हुए मुखोंद्वारा साधुवाद देते हुए धर्मात्माओंमें श्रेष्ठ पुरुषसिंह भीष्मजीकी भूरि- भूरि प्रशंसा करने लगे

sādhu sādhv iti saṁhṛṣṭāḥ puṣpamāṇair ivānanaiḥ | astuvaṁś ca naravyāghraṁ bhīṣmaṁ dharmabhūtāṁ varam ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Hoch erfreut, mit Gesichtern, die wie von Blumen erblühten, riefen sie: „Wohl gesprochen! Wohl gesprochen!“ und priesen Bhīṣma —den Tiger unter den Menschen, den Vornehmsten der Rechtschaffenen— und spendeten ihm immer wieder Beifall für seine von Dharma erfüllte Rede.
