अथास्य पादौ जग्राह भीष्मश्नापि ननन्द तम् | मूर्थ्नि चैनमुपाच्राय निषीदेत्यब्रवीत् तदा,फिर उन्होंने भीष्मजीके दोनों चरण पकड़ लिये। तब भीष्मजीने उन्हें आश्वासन देकर प्रसन्न किया और उनका मस्तक सूँघकर कहा--“बेटा! बैठ जाओ”
athāsya pādau jagrāha bhīṣmaś cāpi nananda tam | mūrdhni cainam upāghrāya niṣīdety abravīt tadā ||
Dann ergriff er in Ehrfurcht Bhishmas beide Füße. Bhishma beruhigte ihn voller Zuneigung; und indem er ihm als väterlichen Segen den Scheitel roch, sprach er in jenem Augenblick: „Mein Sohn, setz dich.“
