Vaiśampāyana uvāca | athābravīn mahātejā vākyam kauravanandanaḥ | hanta dharmān pravakṣyāmi dṛḍhe vā imanasi mama ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Da sagte der Mächtige, die Freude der Kurus, diese Worte: „Wohlan—nun will ich die Grundsätze des Dharma darlegen, denn mein Entschluss in dieser Sache steht fest.“
