तस्या: प्रीत: स शौचेन भार्गव: कुरुनन्दन । पुत्रार्थ भ्रपयामास चर गाधेस्तथैव च

tasyāḥ prītaḥ sa śaucena bhārgavaḥ kurunandana | putrārthaṃ prārthayāmāsa caraṃ gādhes tathaiva ca ||

O Wonne der Kurus, der Bhārgava (Weise) war von ihrer Reinheit angetan. In der Hoffnung auf einen Sohn sprach er daraufhin Gebete—ebenso auch zum Wohle der Linie Gādhis—und gründete die erbetene Gabe auf die sittliche Kraft von Sauberkeit, Selbstzucht und rechtem Wandel.
