True devotion aligned with dharma becomes a fit vessel for higher knowledge; the Lord’s grace manifests as clarifying insight (divya jñāna) that expands one’s vision beyond immediate suffering to a wider moral and cosmic perspective.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa, perceiving Bhīṣma’s devotion through yogic power, approaches him, grants a divine knowledge connected with perceiving the three worlds, and then departs—marking a moment of bestowed spiritual illumination within the Shānti Parva’s reflective setting.
