अदित्या: सप्तधा त्वं तु पुराणो गर्भतां गत: । पृश्चिगर्भस्त्वमेवैकस्त्रियुगं त्वां वदन्त्यपि,“आप पुराणपुरुष परमात्माने ही सात प्रकारसे अदितिके गर्भमें अवतार लिया है। आप ही पृश्चिगर्भके नामसे प्रसिद्ध हैं। विद्वानूलोग तीनों युगोंमें प्रकट होनेके कारण आपको “तत्रियुग” कहते हैं
adityāḥ saptadhā tvaṃ tu purāṇo garbhatāṃ gataḥ | pṛścigarbhas tvam evaikas triyugaṃ tvāṃ vadanty api ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana sprach: „Du, der uralte Herr, gingst in sieben verschiedenen Gestalten in Aditis Schoß ein. Du allein bist als Pṛścigarbha berühmt; und weil du dich durch die drei Zeitalter hindurch offenbarst, nennen die Gelehrten dich auch ‘Triyuga’.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes the Lord’s transcendence and compassionate accessibility: the primordial reality can assume multiple forms and names for the welfare and understanding of beings across different ages. Recognizing these epithets is a way of acknowledging divine continuity through time.
Vaiśaṃpāyana is describing the addressed deity as having taken birth/manifestation through Aditi in sevenfold fashion, identifying him with the epithet Pṛścigarbha, and noting that learned people call him Triyuga because of his appearance across the three yugas.
