वायुदेव उवाच ब्राह्म॒णास्तात लोके5स्मिन्नर्चनीया: सदा मम । एते भूमिचरा देवा वाग्विषा: सुप्रसादका:,श्रीकृष्ण बोले--तात! इस संसारमें ब्राह्मण मेरे लिये सदा ही पूजनीय हैं। ये पृथ्वीपर विचरनेवाले देवता हैं। कुपित होने पर इनकी वाणीमें विषका-सा प्रभाव होता है। ये सहज ही प्रसन्न होते और दूसरोंको भी प्रसन्न करते हैं
vāyudeva uvāca | brāhmaṇās tāta loke 'sminn arcanīyāḥ sadā mama | ete bhūmicarā devā vāgviṣāḥ suprasādakāḥ ||
Vāyudeva sprach: „Mein Kind, in dieser Welt sind die Brahmanen für mich stets der Verehrung würdig. Sie sind Götter, die auf Erden wandeln. Wenn sie erzürnt sind, kann ihr Wort wie Gift treffen; doch von Natur aus sind sie leicht zu besänftigen und bringen auch anderen Frieden und Zufriedenheit.“
