Prāyaścitta-vidhāna: Tapas, Dāna, Vrata, and Proportional Expiation (प्रायश्चित्तविधानम्)
एतत् ते कथितं सर्व यथावृत्तं युधिष्ठिर । समासेन महद्धयेतच्छोतव्यं भरतर्षभ,भरतभूषण युधिष्ठिर! यह सब वृत्तान्त तुम्हें यथावत् रूपसे थोड़ेमें बताया गया। यह महत्त्वपूर्ण प्रसंग सबको सुनना चाहिये
etat te kathitaṃ sarvaṃ yathāvṛttaṃ yudhiṣṭhira | samāsena mahad hy etac chrotavyaṃ bharatarṣabha ||
Vyāsa sprach: „O Yudhiṣṭhira, ich habe dir alles genau so berichtet, wie es sich zugetragen hat, in Kürze. O Stier unter den Bhāratas, dies ist ein großer, gewichtiger Bericht — einer, der gehört werden soll.“
व्यास उवाच
The verse underscores faithful transmission of events (“as they occurred”) and the ethical importance of attentive listening to weighty instruction. It frames the narration as authoritative and worthy of being heard, emphasizing śravaṇa as a means of receiving dharmic guidance.
Vyāsa concludes or rounds off a section of his account to Yudhiṣṭhira, stating that he has narrated the full matter accurately, though in summary, and stresses that this significant episode is something that should be listened to carefully.
