True dharmic excellence is holistic: one should cultivate purity and restraint in speech, action, and mind. When these three are harmonized and grounded in disciplined paths of life, one naturally becomes beneficial and soothing to all beings.
A brāhmaṇa speaker describes the mark of an exemplary person: someone established in a threefold discipline who, by his words, deeds, and inner intention, pacifies and pleases living beings—presenting an ethical ideal typical of Śānti Parva’s instruction.
