Adhyāya 353 — Kathā-prāmāṇya (Authority of Transmission) and the Brāhmaṇa’s Ascetic Resolve

यत्‌ तत्कृत्स्नं लोकतन्त्रस्य धाम वेद्यं परं बोधनीयं स बोद्धा । मन्ता मन्तव्यं प्राशिता प्राशनीयं घ्राता प्रेयं स्पर्शिता स्पर्शनीयम्‌,जो लोकततन्त्रका सम्पूर्ण धाम या प्रकाशक है, वह परम पुरुष ही वेदनीय (जाननेयोग्य) परम तत्त्व है। वही ज्ञाता और वही ज्ञातव्य है। वही मनन करनेवाला और वही मननीय वस्तु है। वही भोक्ता और वही भोज्य पदार्थ है। वही सूँघनेवाला और वही सूँघनेयोग्य वस्तु है। वही स्पर्श करनेवाला तथा वही स्पर्शके योग्य वस्तु है

yat tat kṛtsnaṁ lokatantrasya dhāma vedyaṁ paraṁ bodhanīyaṁ sa boddhā | mantā mantavyaṁ prāśitā prāśanīyaṁ ghrātā preyaṁ sparśitā sparśanīyam ||

Bhīṣma sprach: Das, was der allumfassende Grund und die tragende Wohnstatt der gesamten Weltordnung ist—erkennbar, höchst und zu verwirklichen—ist selbst der Erkennende. Es ist der Denkende und der Gegenstand des Denkens; der Genießende und das Genossene; der Riechende und das zu Riechende; der Berührende und das zu Berührende.
