Educational Q&A

The verse foregrounds the ethic of humility in transmission of sacred knowledge: true narration is presented as possible through the grace (prasāda) of revered authorities—here, Vyāsa—and is oriented toward the divine subject, Nārāyaṇa.

The speaker Vaiśampāyana introduces the forthcoming Nārāyaṇa-related discourse, framing it as spoken by the power of another’s blessing and implicitly offering reverence to Vyāsa as the source and guarantor of the tradition.
