अध्याय ३३७ — ज्ञानमार्ग-वैविध्यप्रश्नः तथा व्यासस्य नारायणोद्भवकथा

स्वयं भागमुपाप्राय पुरोडाशं गृहीतवान् | अदृश्येन हृतो भागो देवेन हरिमेधसा,भगवान् हयग्रीवने स्वयं अदृश्य रहकर ही अपने लिये अर्पित पुरोडाशको ग्रहण किया और उसे सूँघकर अपने अधीन कर लिया
svayaṁ bhāgam upāprāya puroḍāśaṁ gṛhītavān | adṛśyena hṛto bhāgo devena harimedhasā ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Er selbst kam, um seinen rechtmäßigen Anteil einzufordern, und nahm den Opferkuchen (puroḍāśa). Dieser zugeteilte Anteil wurde unsichtbar von einem göttlichen Wesen von scharfem, Hari-gleichem Verstand fortgetragen; ungesehen nahm er an, was ihm dargebracht war, und brachte es schon durch bloßes Riechen unter seine Gewalt.“
