इति संचिन्त्य मनसा भकत्या नारायणस्य तु । सहसा प्रादुरभवत्‌ समीपे देवयोस्तदा,मन-ही-मन ऐसा सोचकर भगवान्‌ नारायणके प्रति भक्तिसे प्रेरित हो नारदजी सहसा उन देवताओंके समीप प्रकट हो गये

iti sañcintya manasā bhaktyā nārāyaṇasya tu | sahasā prādurabhavat samīpe devayostadā ||

Bhishma sprach: „So in seinem Geist erwägend und durch Hingabe an Nārāyaṇa bewegt, erschien er plötzlich dort, in der Nähe jener beiden Gottheiten.“
