Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman
उदारसत्त्वं सत्त्वज्ञा: स्त्रिय: पर्यचरंस्तथा । उस समय वे हँसती, गाती तथा नाना प्रकारकी सुन्दर क्रीड़ाएँ करती थीं। मनके भावको समझनेवाली वे सुन्दरियाँ उन उदारचित्त शुकदेवजीकी सब प्रकारसे सेवा करने लगीं
udārasattvaṃ sattvajñāḥ striyaḥ paryacaraṃs tathā |
Bhishma sprach: Frauen, die die innere Gemütsart zu erkennen wussten, dienten ihm. Damals lachten sie, sangen und übten vielerlei anmutige Spiele; die Regungen des Geistes verstehend, erwiesen jene schönen Frauen dem großherzigen Śukadeva jede Art von Dienst.
भीष्म उवाच
The passage highlights discernment and propriety in service: those who understand another’s inner disposition (sattva) can serve in ways that are fitting, and the emphasis rests on the noble character (udārasattva) of the sage who remains the ethical center of the scene.
Bhīṣma describes women attending upon Śukadeva—laughing, singing, and engaging in refined amusements—while still rendering him various forms of service, suggesting a social setting where the sage is honored and cared for by perceptive attendants.
