Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)

दोषदर्शी तु गार्हस्थ्ये यो व्रजत्या श्रमान्तरे । उत्सृजन्‌ परिगृह्नंश्व॒ सोडपि सड्भान्न मुच्यते,जो गृहस्थ-आश्रममें दोष देखकर उसका परित्याग करके दूसरे आश्रममें चला जाता है, वह भी कुछ छोड़ता है और कुछ ग्रहण करता है; अतः उसे भी संगदोषसे छुटकारा नहीं मिलता है

doṣadarśī tu gārhasthye yo vrajaty āśramāntare | utsṛjan parigṛhṇaṃś ca so 'pi saṅgān na mucyate ||

Janaka sprach: „Selbst wenn ein Mann, der in der Lebensweise des Hausvaters Fehler erkennt, sie aufgibt und in eine andere Lebensstufe übergeht, lässt er doch etwas zurück und nimmt etwas anderes an; daher wird auch er nicht vom Makel der Anhaftung frei. Die Lehre ist: Ein bloßer Wechsel der äußeren Lebensform beendet das Klammern nicht von selbst—erforderlich ist innere Nicht-Anhaftung.“
