नारद–शुक संवादः

Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga

पज्चविंशतिमं प्रश्न॑ पप्रच्छान्वीक्षिकी तदा । विश्वाविश्वं तथाश्चाश्वृं मित्र वरुणमेव च,पृथ्वीनाथ! तत्पश्चात्‌ उन्होंने वेदके सम्बन्धमें चौबीस प्रश्न पूछे। फिर आन्चीक्षिकी विद्याके सम्बन्धमें पचीसवाँ प्रश्न उपस्थित किया। वे चौबीस प्रश्न इस प्रकार हैं--१. विश्वा क्या है? २. अविश्व क्या है? ३. अश्वा कया है? ४. अश्व क्या है? ५. मित्र क्या है? ६. वरुण क्या है?

pañcaviṁśatitamaṁ praśnaṁ papracchānvīkṣikī tadā | viśvāviśvaṁ tathā cāśvaṁ mitra varuṇam eva ca pṛthvīnātha |

Yājñavalkya sprach: „Dann stellte er die fünfundzwanzigste Frage, über die Disziplin der rationalen Untersuchung (Ānvīkṣikī). O Herr der Erde! Nachdem er vierundzwanzig Fragen über den Veda gestellt hatte, fragte er weiter: ‚Was ist viśvā (das All)? Was ist aviśva (das Nicht-All)? Was ist aśva (das Pferd)? Was ist an-aśva (das Nicht-Pferd)? Was ist Mitra? Was ist Varuṇa?‘“
