The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin
ahaṁ ca parvataś caiva svasrīyo me mahāmuniḥ | vastukāmāv abhigatau suñjayaṁ jayatāṁ varam ||
The verse highlights a dharmic mode of seeking outcomes: when one has a purpose or request, one should approach a worthy and capable person (here, Suñjaya, praised as ‘foremost among the victorious’) with proper intent and respect, rather than relying on force or impropriety.
Narada, speaking in the first person, states that he and the sage Parvata (identified as Narada’s nephew) went to meet Suñjaya, indicating the beginning of an episode in which they seek something from him or initiate counsel connected with their purpose.
