तुल्यं शौचं तपोयुक्तं दया भूतेषु चानघ । व्रतानां धारणं तुल्यं दर्शनं॑ न समं तयो:,बाहर-भीतरकी पवित्रता, तप, प्राणियोंपर दया और व्रतोंका पालन आदि नियम दोनों मतोंमें समान रूपसे स्वीकार किये गये हैं। केवल उनके दर्शनोंमें अर्थात् पद्धतियोंमें समानता नहीं है
Translation
Äußere und innere Reinheit, asketische Übung, Mitgefühl gegenüber allen Wesen—o Makelloser—und das Halten der Gelübde: Diese Regeln werden in beiden Lehren gleichermaßen anerkannt. Doch in ihren Darśanas, das heißt in Methode und philosophischer Ausrichtung, sind sie nicht gleich.
