अन्योन्यस्य स आख्येयो मृषा शापो<न्यथा भवेत्‌ | उन दोनोंने बड़ी प्रसन्नताके साथ प्रेमपूर्वक यह शर्त कर रखी थी कि हमलोगोंके मनमें शुभ या अशुभ जो भी संकल्प प्रकट हो, उसे हम एक दूसरेसे कह दें; अन्यथा झूठे ही शापका भागी होना पड़ेगा

anyonyasya sa ākhyeyo mṛṣā śāpo 'nyathā bhavet |

Beide hatten in großer Freude und Zuneigung diese Abmachung getroffen: Welche Regung auch immer im Geist aufsteige, günstig oder ungünstig, müsse der eine sie dem anderen offenbaren; andernfalls fiele der Fluch wie auf den, der einen Meineid schwört.
