Śānti-parva Adhyāya 3: Karṇa’s training under Rāma Jāmadagnya and the Bhārgava restriction on the Brahmāstra
एवमुक्त: स रामेण न््यायेनोपजगाम ह । दुर्योधनमुपागम्य कृतास्त्रो$स्मीति चाब्रवीत्,परशुरामजीके ऐसा कहनेपर कर्ण उन्हें न्यायपूर्वक प्रणाम करके वहाँसे लौट आया और दुर्योधनके पास पहुँचकर बोला--'मैंने सब अस्त्रोंका ज्ञान प्राप्त कर लिया”
evam uktaḥ sa rāmeṇa nyāyenopajagāma ha | duryodhanam upāgamya kṛtāstro 'smīti cābravīt ||
So von Rāma (Paraśurāma) angesprochen, trat Karṇa in gebührender Weise und mit ehrerbietigem Verhalten zu ihm. Dann kehrte er zurück, ging zu Duryodhana und erklärte: „Ich bin nun vollständig in der Waffenlehre ausgebildet.“
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights nyāya—proper, respectful conduct—especially in relation to a teacher and the serious moral responsibility that comes with acquiring and proclaiming mastery of weapons.
After being addressed by Paraśurāma, Karṇa respectfully approaches him, then returns to Duryodhana and reports that he has completed his training and gained knowledge of the astras (weapon-lore).
