Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving

न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती

na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||

Parāśara sprach: Wer sich verdienstvollen Taten weiht, findet sein Ende nicht durch künstlich ersonnene, listig ausgeheckte Machenschaften; und er geht auch nicht durch viele andere derart niederträchtige Mittel zugrunde, die aus der gewöhnlichen, weltlichen Natur entspringen. Der Vers betont eine ethische Sicht: Ein Leben, das in Tugend gründet, wird nicht leicht durch kleinliche Ränke und unwürdige Strategeme gestürzt.
