ऑपन-मा_ज बछ। जज: एकोननवर्त्याधेकद्विशततमो< ध्याय: भूगुपुत्र 3उशनाका चरित्र और उन्हें शुक्र नामकी प्राप्ति युधिछिर उवाच तिछ्ठते मे सदा तात कौतूहलमिदं हृदि । तदहं श्रोतुमिच्छामि त्वत्त: कुरूपितामह
Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | tiṣṭhate me sadā tāta kautūhalam idaṃ hṛdi | tad ahaṃ śrotum icchāmi tvattaḥ kuru-pitāmaha ||
Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „O ehrwürdiger, teurer Vaterältester, diese Frage—voll Staunen—ist seit langem in meinem Herzen geblieben. O Ahnvater der Kurus, ich wünsche ihre Auflösung aus deinem eigenen Mund zu hören.“
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse models dharmic learning: a ruler should not suppress doubt but respectfully seek clarification from a qualified elder/teacher, treating ethical understanding as a sustained inner responsibility.
In the Śānti Parva’s instructional setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Bhīṣma as the Kurus’ grandsire and asks him to resolve a long-held question, initiating the next teaching episode.
